I was getting ready for our annual Christmas party as usual, and found that I had a serious problem! Food? Check. Adult and kiddie beverages? Check. Holiday decorations and turning the Christmas lights on? Check. Enough counter and table space for all the treats I had prepared? NO. What could I do? Guests were up and dinner wasn’t ready! Well not literally, but you know what I mean. I didn’t have any time to go get extra buffet tables or anything, because my guests would be there in a matter of minutes and I had a casserole, potatoes and desserts with no where to go!
That’s when I saw the solution, sitting there in the dining room looking coy…the buffet cabinet! Usually I had some decorations and what not on top of it, but I thought I could take the decorations off of it and there is my extra tabletop! So quick like a rabbit I made over the buffet cabinet top, and placed my goodies there for my party. It worked beautifully, because the dining room table was piled high, so everything fit perfectly in the dining room. My buffet cabinet saved the day, and now I know it’s always there for me if I need it to be a buffet server.
